Hand lettering exploration from Molly Grace Makes

I knew I was going to have to make some changes soon regarding my business name with my upcoming wedding in July. Plus, some people didn’t understand the concept of the previous name (Creative Tuch Design & Photography) having not known my last name was Tuchrello (Tuch=Touch). Either way, I contacted Molly Petroski with Molly Grace Makes and began to explore different options with hand lettering. I knew I wanted something one-of-a-kind instead of finding a random typeface.

More exploration from Molly Grace Makes

To the left are some awesome creations that Molly came up with initially. I liked the whimsical aspect, but decided to go with a more formal approach. Molly then went hard at work again. This time she really listened to all of my critiques (even though it was really close to perfect) and sent back some final sketches. I picked my favorite and she pushed forward to make it digital.

Final explorations

Once it was digital, Molly sent all of the different layouts and I chose a typeface for “design & photography”. I decided a serif font was very complimentary to the brush calligraphy. I then added a feather to symbolize being free and going with the wind. “Be like the wind”. I made a very serious career decision last year to branch out on my own after working full time and trying to balance the business. It has been the most challenging and rewarding thing I have ever done and I cannot be happier with my decision. I could not have made this move without the undying support of my soon-to-be husband, my parents, my sister, my grandparents, friends, and of course, my loyal and amazing clients.

Final logo

Here is the final logo and new business name. I am so proud of what my business has become and I am proud of myself for coming this far. It can only go up from here. And as the feather in my logo symbolizes being free and being like the wind, I will do just that!

Another huge thank you to Molly from Molly Grace Makes in Massachusetts for creating the logo of my dreams. She is really interested in getting her calligraphy services within the wedding and event industry to grow. She does everything from envelope addressing,  invitation design, products that can be used at events and photoshoots such as Mr. & Mrs. signs, menus, seating charts, welcome signs, baby signs, vows, and more all on chalkboards, mirrors, wood, paper, t-shirts, etc. – the list is endless! Contact her with any calligraphy needs!! Here is how to contact her:
